any other democratic candidate in 30 years, but a new poll shows they may be slipping away. we'll dig into what's going on and how important millennials are to both obama care and the obama presidency. >>> good morning. i'm chris jansing, and this morning we're looking at what the president calls the defining challenge of our time, income and equality. he's got a lot of statistics to back him up, but consider just this one. between 1978 and 2011 worker compensation has gone up by 5.7%, on average, for most of us, for a ceo, they've gotten a 725% raise. fast food workers say they are living examples of the effect of income and equality. today thousands of them are walking off the job in more than a hundred cities off the country demanding to be paid $15 an hour. >> i actually work two jobs. i work mcdonald's and wendy's and it's still not enough. the cost of living still seems to be rising over my head and still making difficult, daily sacrifices and i work two job, minimum wage is just not enough. >> president obama gave those protesters a boost yesterday. >> we know that th

one attack called the landrieu barack obama's rubber stamp. how big a problem is the affordable care act going to be for these democrats. >> well, if the election were this year it would be a big problem but luckily it's next year. this year it's a political problem. next year it's a consume issue. it's like the medicaid part d rollout. when it rolled out, it was a huge problem and then a year later people were using the benefits, using the products and they liked it. this time next year this isn't going to be perhaps a winning issue for democrats but it's not going to be the silver bullet that republicans think it is. >> danny, let's not pretend that attack ads are anything new, but it does seem that the quantity of them, how early they start before an election has changed dramatically. part of it is super pacs, part of it is just the general mood that's out there in washington. so is this a problem not just obviously for the people who are trying to run for office to win re-election, but for getting people to actually run? >> well, it's that

we've done it several years. it was a ramp-up process where it was a state solution to deal with uninsured in our state. that now is also considered illegal and we're going through the process to try to figure out people that were covered under insure oklahoma, that are exactly in that pool you're describing, now are being pushed out and our state has to then reconfigure. the biggest issue is why. you talk to the people that were covered under insure oklahoma, they liked their coverage. they have come to me and complained and said why can't i deep this. and so there are big issues. so it's simple to look at the data from a distance but when you know those families face to face, you see the real effect on them. a car dealership in central oklahoma city just talked to two days ago and his statement is he's now gone back on and discovered he's losing his insurance because he's one of those small associations -- small businesses that pull together a association and now he has to pay more or keep my doctor but if i go

it comes nearly a year after newtown and ahead of a meeting at the white house on mental health and guns. >>> good morning, i'm chris jansing, but we begin this morning with president obama delivering an impassioned tribute to the man who was his inspiration, nelson mandela. tens of thousands listened intently through the driving rain at africa's largest stadium. 90 world leaders in the crowd, including president clinton, secretary clinton, and their daughter, chelsea, along with former presidents bush and president carter. the president's speech, part remembrance, part call to action to follow nelson mandela's example. >> around the world today, men and women are still imprisoned for their political beliefs and are still persecuted for what they look like and how they worship and who they love. that is happening today. and so we too must act on behalf of justice. >> i want to bring in our company. char lane hunter galt and mark. good morning to both of you. we saw thousands of people in addition to those 90 plus world leaders who walked in the rain, who sat for hours in a driving rain.
